Surprising Challenges from Healing Too Fast

Hooray! Congratulations to *Amy (same person from issue 97**), who has successfully tapered off all three of her medications: the anti-psychotic Geodon (60 mg for 5 years, and before that, Seroquel for 6 years), anti-depressant Wellbutrin (450 mg for 11 years), and mood stabilizer Lamictal (500 mg for 11 years) all for the diagnosis of Bipolar Disorder!

Amy began her treatment with me eight months ago. It was during the middle of her withdrawal process that I first introduced using EET + Logosynthesis to help overcome the co-dependent reactions of the body that keep medications at a homeostatic dose. Amy's response was an enthusiastic, "Let's do it!"

Adding the technique was like adding rocket fuel, causing a significant acceleration of her withdrawal process, i.e. she started to heal almost too easily and fast (can that even be a problem??). This shift created an urgent need for energy testing methods to properly guide us on how to taper down on her medications.

In addition to guidance, the energy testing provided, through scales and numbers, a better understanding of the stress that occurs when consuming higher amounts of medications than necessary.

Read on for these insights!

Surprising Challenges from Healing Too Fast
Physical changes from taking medications you don’t need

It's one thing to handle withdrawal effects when tapering off multiple medications; it's quite another to handle overdose-like effects right after a taper. Huh?!

It's a little bewildering, confusing, and difficult to wrap my head around the idea that even though I just reduced Amy's medications last week, her symptoms this week are due to taking too much medication rather than too little. But that was what the energy testing indicated, and I trusted the testing results. By lowering her medications, Amy's symptoms always resolved within a couple of days, and we would press on.

For example, Amy recently reported that since 1 pm the day before, she had been experiencing a very strong and rapid pulse (around 140 BPM) though her blood pressure was normal. Her energy had also felt "off" over the past two days.

It was just before her last taper, right before she would be entirely free from any remaining medications. This is the point where many patients struggle the most with withdrawal side effects. But, over the previous week, she had used EET + Logosynthesis to deal with the following problem:

"The co-dependent reactions of my body that keep Lamictal and Geodon at a homeostatic dose which interfere with my ability to safely, smoothly, and easily stop needing these medications by Wednesday, January 22nd."

And now it was Thursday, January 23rd. Amy had been taking Geodon 2.5 mg and Lamictal 25 mg over the previous week, along with her supplements. She had just lowered her Geodon by 2.5 mg and Lamictal by 12.5 mg the week before.

Of course, we were wondering whether her symptoms were from withdrawal side effects or from taking too much medication. Upon testing, the results showed that Amy was ready to stop her remaining medications. Also, she needed to stop taking her daily Potassium Chloride (KCl) 99 mg capsules used to help her lower the Lamictal, which she had taken since June 2019 without any ill side effects.

We took the plunge and stopped the KCl, Geodon, and Lamictal. In two days, her pulse returned to normal, and she felt like her healthy self again.

It's clear that her symptoms were due to her body following the intentions from her energy work. Her integrated approach helped her not to need her medications anymore, and apparently, that applied to her KCl as well.

Amy's rapidly decreasing need for medications caused her to experience other temporary effects from her medications***:

  • increased physical stress: 150/200 (see the general description of the scale below).

  • increased activity of organs and glands throughout the body: 150/200.

  • Excessive toxicity throughout all the organs and glands: 200/200.

  • Neurotransmitter system elevated to 150/200 for the GABA, serotonin, endorphin, and endocannabinoid systems. But the catecholamine system involved in the sympathetic nervous system's stress response was elevated to 200/200.

  • Glutathione and zinc levels were reduced to 50/200 due to the stress from the medications.

  • Increased oxidative stress and inflammation in general.

Based on the energy testing, taking medication when you no longer need it (at that dosage) can really stress the body and undermine health. Reflecting on the data from Amy's treatment, I wonder how much of our understanding of "chronic" mental illness is actually due to prolonged consumption of medications we no longer need.

This may be one reason why younger people with lower exposure to psychotropic medications are able to withdraw from medication more easily. Longer exposure to unnecessary medications may be associated with more, and possibly irreparable, harm to the body.

With the combination of her supplements and energy work, Amy was able to reduce her medications weekly, a little at a time. She recovered quickly from her symptoms, whether they were fatigue, cognitive slowing, or feeling "groggy" and "unproductive," once her medications were lowered.

During her withdrawal, Amy's appetite and sleep remained stable. She continued to work and handled life's stressors in a healthy way, which included participating in a wedding and suffering from the passing of a beloved family member.

I call energy medicine the quantum physics of healing. As the Information Age differs from the Mechanical Age, Energy Medicine differs from Functional Medicine. Combining both fields opens the doors to a whole new universe of possibilities.
