This Holistic Article shares some of my recent experiences with the use of energy medicine in supporting neurotransmitter and hormonal function and overcoming addictions. This is an area where I am still learning and growing in my understanding.

At the bottom of this article, I've included a link to a new podcast recording that I created during a therapeutic session aimed at reducing a patient's cigarette addiction--I mentioned other substances for those who want to work on other issues, e.g. marijuana.

I'm continuing to connect the dots between what I have done that worked and other less familiar areas--updating and expanding my understanding through observations and empirical experiences. This is what curious pioneers in medicine used to do in the past, before modern million-dollar research grants and double-blind, placebo-controlled trials.

I admit it's a bit spartan, but hey, it has helped me to achieve wonderful outcomes: Successful Withdrawal from Six Psychiatric Medications Using Criteria-Based Energy Testing: Case Report.

I hope that you will find my insights and supports helpful and useful!

Have a beautiful week!

Recently, some unusual clinical outcomes caused me to reevaluate my approach to healing addictions.

Out of a need to help someone with chronic anxiety (on Sertraline/Zoloft 100 mg per day) to create adequate amounts of serotonin, I used the Infinite Intention Technique to help him with the metabolic (enzymatic) creation of serotonin, which soon resulted in some unexpected side effects starting the next day and over the next two weeks: nausea, headaches, diarrhea, and vomiting.

During his next weekly follow-up appointment, I lowered his Sertraline (Zoloft) by 10% (90 mg), but his symptoms worsened. I had to break my own rules of medication withdrawal and lower his Sertraline from 100 mg to nothing in about two weeks. It was a scramble, but his exaggerated negative side effects resolved.

When discussing this puzzling phenomenon, another patient reminded me that something similar happened to her several years ago when we worked together the first time. I told her that she needed to stop taking 30 mg of Vyvanse after using energy work during a session. She was incredulous and scared, but she did it and didn't experience any withdrawal problems.

This same patient received energy work on February 7, 2024, to help her heal her DNA, RNA, and enzymes in the creation and metabolism of reproductive hormones: estrogen, progesterone, testosterone, as well as cortisol, opioid, endorphin, and serotonin systems and their regulation. Later, we added healing and clearing hypersensitivity to these hormones, neurotransmitters, and receptors.

She reported that the following week, she experienced one of the easiest periods, pain-wise, she can remember. Her problem has been crippling menstrual cramps every month since she began her menstrual cycles as a teenager. I don't know which of those hormonal intentions reduced her pain since I threw the entire bucket of hormonal healing at her, but the results were immediate and significant.

After this patient reminded me of her Vyvanse experience, I remembered that years before that, a similar thing had occured with another patient.

I resorted to using energy medicine to help a man stop needing the last little bit of his stimulant for ADD. I had tried every functional support possible, but he was still dependent on his stimulant.

Two weeks later, he came back with negative symptoms related to having too many dopamine-supporting supplements, and I had to lower the supplements for his dopamine system. He no longer needed them to help improve his attention.

On February 8, 2024, I used similar energy medicine techniques to help another patient lower her dependency on Vyvanse, and she felt an immediate improvement the following week in her attention and focus while being able to cut her need for Vyvanse from 20-30 mg per day to 10 mg per day.

This last patient's healing process was not as unexpected and therefore, both of us were delighted by her improvements rather than taken by surprise.

There are other aspects of energy medicine's effects on addictions that I need to explore and refine, but there have been enough empirical experiences for me to shift the use of energy techniques to treat addictions to a more methodical approach.

This shift is a pioneering step for me who had applied energy medicine techniques sporadically over the years as a last resort for addictions.

I'm excited about this shift in my understanding and want to share it with you immediately.

I've come to realize that energy medicine techniques can immediately affect neuronal and hormonal function through thoughts and intentions linked to an ideal source of energy. Not all the time, but enough times to let me know that it's possible. Why not? Aren't neurotransmitters physical representations of our thoughts and feelings? Why shouldn't they be able to immediately respond to our thoughtful intentions?

I've used these energy techniques to help with psychiatric medication withdrawal, why shouldn't it be possible to extend it to other substances such as cigarettes, marijuana, amphetamines, or other addictive substances?

Here is where further understanding is necessary: when I work with individuals to heal them from dependency, I also work with the underlying emotional causes that allow these substances to fill a void within the person.

There is a relationship between the substance and the person that leads to their willingness to let the substance be their "worst-best friend." Healing this dysfunctional relationship may be a critical part of resolving physical addictions.

The dysfunctional relationship between an addictive substance and the person may symbolize a surrogate that fills an emotional void caused by actual dysfunctional relationships due to neglect, trauma, low self-esteem, or social isolation. Without healing from these underlying issues, I think it would be difficult to let go of an addiction, which "adds" something essential to fill the void.

In addition, I believe that a healthy shift is linked to the physical capacity to adapt and change. This requires sufficient building blocks for biological change--vitamins, minerals, essential fatty acids, amino acids, antioxidants, anti-inflammatories, and detoxification--along with sufficient function from various glands and organs involved.

Given my current understanding, I recently used an energy medicine technique to help someone reduce her addiction to cigarettes, which became her go-to as a reliable source of emotional support. Growing up, her parents were often absent because they had demanding careers. I hope the intervention will turn out to be helpful.

See below for the recording of the energy technique for cigarette withdrawal. Try it as an experiment for a substance you'd like to be less dependent on (junk food? chocolate? Amazon spending sprees?) and let me know how well it works for you. You don't have much to lose other than a few minutes.

Caution: if the technique works and your need for the addictive substance suddenly plummets, the same dosage that worked well for you before energy work may cause an overdose. If you are open to energy healing, its healing effect may immediately expand with a ripple-like effect into physical functions.

Sometimes the negative side effects of taking too much of an addictive substance (overdose), e.g. cocaine, may kill you. So be careful with this technique because potentially, after the energy technique, the same dosage that you needed before the technique may suddenly be too much for you, causing significant negative side effects and harm. So, if you feel bad on the same dosage that used to make you feel good, you may need to cut back on your use of the substance--which may be exactly what you wanted to happen.

Have a good week.

Energy medicine can be applied to a wide variety of problems. However, instead of using a pill or machine, energy medicine uses focus, thoughts, intentions, words, and imagery to resolve difficult problems. Its healing potential is supported by true beliefs, receptivity, and gratitude.

In this podcast, I share a short recording of an energy-healing session aimed at resolving cigarette addiction. You may focus on other addictive substances you wish to resolve as the recording progresses. During the session, the patient reported a lot of tearing, yawning, and some chest discomfort which are signs of the energy healing process. I also yawned and teared up, which regularly happens when I do energy work. To my patients and me, it helps us to know that the positive intentions are working.

If you notice some physical reactions to the recording, don't worry, it may be a sign that your intentions and thoughts are helping you shift things at the energy level. Since everything is made of energy, these healing thoughts will have a positive ripple effect on your mental, emotional, physical, social, and spiritual life.

Warning: be careful and attentive to evolving biochemical changes from your intentions/energy work. It may cause you to become more sensitive to the addictive substances and their negative side effects. These negative side effects can result in significant harm to you if they include decreased respiratory function, increased excitability, or blocking of essential biochemical functions.

On the other hand, you may notice an easier process of coming off these addictive substances.

Give it a try! I hope that you'll find this meditation tool helpful.
